Please note that there is only space for 15 or so people in the room available at the IEA for the technical sessions.
So we would appreciate an indication of the number of you that expect to be participating in the Monday/Tuesday sessions.
Please provide this information also directly to Gary Goldstein.
The Technical Sessions scheduled for Monday and Tuesday (5/15-16) in Paris will for the most part be forced on the process of ETSAP moving (slowly) towards TIMES. However, with the recent expression of interest by the US-DOE/EIA (and the IEA) in Global-MARKAL/TIMES we're also going to want to take advantage of everyone being together in Paris to discussion aspects of this undertaking as well.
Back on the TIMES front there has been progress on the "shells," both ANSWER-TIMES and
MESAP-Extractor_for_TIMES, M2T and the validation undertaking has moved forward, and
he TIMES-Analyst has also improved a bit since November.
Monday 15 May
- ANSWER-TIMES
- MESAP-Extractor_for_TIMES
- TIMES-Analyst
- M2T
- working with country models (bring your model and a PC so that Amit, Denise, Mario and I can help to get you going)
Tuesday 16 May AM

- Expression of interest in participation

- Proposed DC workshop (June/July)
- Discussion about a preliminary workplan
- {Note that EIA will also give a short presentation on their perspective on Global-MARKAL./TIMES during the regular ETSAP meeting.}
Tuesday 16 May PM
- IEA-GHG/ETSAP meeting (by invitation only)
- Continued M2T/TIMES validation, as well as hands-on use of "shells" & TA if desired
