Description       TIMES_PT is a TIMES model that covers the following sectors of the Portuguese energy system: primary energy supply, electricity generation, industry, residential, commercial, agriculture and transport. The model started out to be developed within the EU project NEEDS and has been further expanded and adapted to the Portuguese case. TIMES_PT is being used to assess the effects of different energy and environment policy instruments, such as the EU ETS, fuel taxes, and feed-in tariffs for renewable and acidifying emission limits. The model is being run for the 2000-2030 period.

Description       The model optimises the Electricity, Heat and Natural Gas Markets of the EU-25;each member state is represented separately, the trade flows are represented explicitly and optimised too. The models have been used, together with several others, in the EUSUSTEL and CASCADE-MINTS projects.

Description       This MARKAL model represents China as a single region. The demand for energy services is split in 30 sectors. The model represents all energy vectors of the Chinese energy balance. Its time horizon extends to 2050. The same base model is run in the three versions; technological optimum (least cost), partial equilibirium (MARKAL Elastic Demands) and general equilibrium (MARKAL-MACRO). It has been used to evaluate the imapact of different carbon mitigation policies on social welfare from MARKAL and MARKAL-ED, and on GDP, investment and consumption from MARKAL-MACRO TIMES_PT.
